If you need to delay the forwarding of your orders on Shopify, you can do so by setting specific time ranges in the “Channel Settings>Common>Order Forwarding” tab. This allows you to manage your order processing more effectively, especially when updates to orders occur.
Benefits of Delaying Order Forwarding
Delaying the order forwarding process can be particularly beneficial in scenarios where additional products are added to an existing order over time. Here's how it works:
- Order Placement: When an order is placed on Shopify, it is typically forwarded immediately to the assigned order receiver.
- Order Updates: If the order is updated after it has been forwarded, the updated version cannot be sent again unless a delay is set.
- Delay Implementation: By setting a delay, you ensure that the order is forwarded only after the updates are made, allowing the order receiver to receive the most current version.
How to Set Up a Delay
- Navigate to Settings: Go to “Channel Settings > Common > Order Forwarding.”
- Set Time Range: Select the desired time range for delaying the order forwarding process. This can be adjusted based on your specific needs.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
- No Delay Option: If you choose “No Delay,” orders will be forwarded to your order receiver as soon as they are downloaded to StoreAutomator. This option bypasses any delay and forwards orders immediately upon download.
By using the delay feature, you can ensure that your order receiver always has the latest version of each order, improving the accuracy and efficiency of your order management process on Shopify.
