Often you will want to merge a selection of single products with an existing parent. This is really simple to do in StoreAutomator and can be undertaken directly using the UI or via a bulk action.
Via StoreAutomator UI:
1- Find the parent and click edit.
2- Go to the variations tab and click “Add Variant”.
3- From the newly opened page:
Select the “Convert a Single Product to a Variant” option.
Search the product’s SKU and select.
Based on the variation theme, add a variation option to the product and click “Add”.
Via Bulk Action:
1- Select the parent and go to “Inventory>Custom…”
2- Select and export “Parentage, Parent Sku, Variation Options, Variation Types” fields.
3- Download the exported file from the “Notifications”.
4- Fill the data for the below headers for the product:
- productdata.sku: Type the SKU here.
- parentage: Use the valid value “Child”.
- parent_sku: Copy the parent’s SKU for the product.
- variation_options: Type the necessary option value based on the variation theme.
- variation_types: Type the variation theme from the parent.
5- Upload the file into StoreAutomator by clicking the Upload button in the top right of the page.
