Headerless Feed File Importing Functionality in StoreAutomator

StoreAutomator allows importing feed files even if the headers are missing. This is accomplished through template definitions. Follow the steps below to import headerless feed files:

Steps to Create a Template for Headerless Feed File Import

  1. Navigate to Templates:
  • Go to Settings.
  • Select Templates.
  • Click on Add Template.
  1. Select a Template:
  • Choose the Generic Input template.
  • From the list of available templates, select one that suits your needs. For this example, we'll use the Quantity Update template.

  1. Create and Edit the Template:
  • Provide a name for your template and click Create.
  • After creation, click Edit to modify the template.
  1. Define Fields in the Template:
  • In the new dialog box, click Add Field.
  • Select a field, such as SKU.
  1. Configure Field Mapping:
  • Click Auto and switch to Manual to enter the value manually.

  • Enter %0 to denote the first column in the file. %0 represents the first column, %1 the second, %2 the third, and so on.
  • Click OK to save your changes.
  1. Add Additional Fields:
  • To add another field like On Hand Quantity, click Add Field.
  • Select on_hand_quantity from the field list.
  • Click Auto and switch to Manual.
  • Enter the corresponding column number. For example, if the On Hand Quantity value is in the fourth column, write %3.
  • Click OK to save.

Example Template Configuration

Your completed template should look like this:

  • SKU mapped to %0
  • On Hand Quantity mapped to %3

Important Notes

This method is for importing data into StoreAutomator and cannot be used for exporting data or sending feeds to channels that support the generic feed type.

It is applicable to the following DX channels:

  • Channel Input
