Product Options

Product options are variations of items, e.g., color, size of a shoe. Customers must select these options to buy an item. Options are easily created and attached to a parent product; doing so automatically creates options related to child products, specifications, and SKUs.

Product Options

Product Options page can be found at: Menu > Inventory > Product Options. In this screen, follow the tabs to consecutively create option types options and create a set to apply to a parent product.

Option Types Tab

Option types are general option families, e.g., the size or color of a product. These families must be created first. Click on the “Add Option Type” button towards the upper right-hand side of the screen, write down your new Option Family Name, click on the Create button to create a new family, and proceed to the Options tab.

Options Tab

While in the Options tab, click on the “Add Option” button towards the upper right-hand side of the screen and choose an Option Type that this option will go under. Fill in your new Option Name and Display name, click on the “Create” button to create a new Option, and click on Edit to go to the “Edit Options” page.

Click on Plus sign “+” to add option values. Type the value and click on the Save icon towards the right side of the page and repeat these steps until you enter all your options.

For example, if you are selling socks and come in four different colors, you need to create them under this Options tab. If the socks have 5 different sizes, those will be separate options that you need to create.

When you create new Options, make sure to click on the “Save and close” button and proceed to the Option Sets Tab to combine these two Options(socks that has both color and size options)
