Import Products from Channels

  • This is a great tool if you are new to StoreAutomator and would like to bring your products to your SA inventory. After your StoreAutomator account setup is finished, please refrain from using this feature, as your sales channels may got stuck with the old data, and this action will override inventory data, and corrupt it.

  • If you must download additional information from your channels you can use this tool, but use it very carefully.

Here is how to use it:

1. In the navigation pane on the left-hand side of the screen, a plus sign appears next to the word ‘Tools.’ Click to expand,

2. Click on “Import From A Channel,”

3. Clicking ‘Choose a Channel’ will open the drop-down box seen below, allowing the channel in which products will be imported to be chosen.

4. After the channel has been chosen; Please select your import mode:

Sync Remote IDs

Sync Remote IDs option will try to connect your products that are included in the channel with the ones that are already present in the remote channel by matching your local and remote SKUs. If successful, SA starts controlling their product data, price, images and quantities, etc... If there are non existent SKUs found in the remote channel they will not be added to your inventory; to add those after using sync Remote IDs run importer in 'Create only' mode.

Create Only

This option will get all items from your remote channel and create those, which does not exist in your inventory.

Quantity Only

This option will get only Quantities from your remote channel and update the Quantities of those items that exists in your inventory.

Update Only

This option will get items from your remote channel and update Product data of those items that exists in your inventory.

Create Update

This option will get all items from your remote channel, create those items that does not exist in your inventory and update product data of those which exists in your inventory.

Price Only

This option will get only Prices from your remote channel and update the Prices of those items that exists in your inventory.

Price and Quantity Only

This option will get Prices and Quantities from your remote channel and update the Price and Quantities of those items that exists in your inventory

Update Item Condition Only

This option will get all item's Condition from your remote channel and update items that exists in your inventory.

Category Only

This option will get all item's categories for inventory existing items from your remote channel.

Update Shipping Template Only

This option will get all item's shipping templates from your remote channel and update items that exists in your inventory.

Connect Listings

This is similar to Sync Remote IDs mode but the SKUs don't have to be included in the channel. In this mode only the SKUs existing on the remote channel are connected. When a connection is established SA can control the product data, price, images and quantities, etc... of the products in the remote channel. This option will also assign Sync Remote Ids to matched items.

If you are New to StoreAutomator and in process of setting up your account, use this option to connect to your existing products on your Remote channels.

Update Image Urls

This option will get all item's image urls from your remote channel and update items that exists in your inventory.

SyncCategoryIds

This option will either get the Category IDs from Remote channel and import the value, or send Category IDs to channel if products on the remote channel don't have.

SyncBrandIds

This option will either get the Brand IDs from Remote channel and import the value, or send Brand IDs to channel if products on the remote channel don't have.

5. Start the import process by clicking the Import button. An email will be sent to the email address listed on the account when the Import is complete.

Notes:

  • StoreAutomator is designed to be the center of your inventory system; this means that, data is always flowing from StoreAutomator to your sales channels.

  • Any addition to your inventory products or any changes that are made in product data, prices and quantities must be made in StoreAutomator inventory.

  • If changes are made in channels, StoreAutomator cannot go and get the changes automatically from the channel, the sequence must be initiated through Channel Import methods, that are described in this article.

  • Importing from a channel may cause your product data stored in StoreAutomator Inventory to get corrupted.

  • As a good sales practice, keep your StoreAutomator Inventory Data as the latest and greatest.
