Using replacements depending on your product data can be changed by different marketplaces. They can ask you to send the specific data in their catalog and don’t accept the current data you are sending. In this situation, you can add replacements to the templates without changing your inventory level data. This way, you can provide what marketplaces require.
In StoreAutomator, you can use two different match behaviors to decide which action to place when replacing the data: Continue and Stop.
Match Behavior: Continue
When this is selected the system will find the first item to replace and then continue until it does not find any data to match and replace. You can add more than one replacement for the custom field you mapped for the related field.
For example, Here is a product with a title containing “Burgundy” and “Teal”, and we want to replace these values.
IMPORTANT NOTE: You need to select “Inline” from the “Replace Map” before adding any replacements to the field.
After entering the replacements and clicking “OK”, on the next page you can see the output we will be send to the channel by clicking “Template Preview”
Match Behavior: Stop
When this is selected, the first match and replacement will take place but any additional matches will not be changed because the system will stop after the first replacement.
Just like in the example above, we have “Burgundy” and “Teal” in the title but with the Stop behavior selected.
After entering the replacements and clicking “OK”, on the next page you can see the output we will be sent to the channel by clicking “Template Preview”.
As you can see, the first replacement took place and changed the value “Burgundy” with “Red” and the system was stopped. The second replacement didn’t change the value “Teal” with “Blue”.
