One of the biggest recommendations we have for StoreAutomator users is to find and fix your listing problems. Correcting errors can lead to significantly better results, and can cause a lift in sales.
If you have a lot of marketplace errors, it can seem overwhelming at first but we are here to help you.
In this guide, we’ll describe some strategies you can use. We recommend you prioritize marketplace errors and resolve all of them, while keeping your company profitable.
-
Filter Your Errors
By filtering your errors, it helps you determine which errors you should address first and gain some time.
-
Prioritize Errors
If your item has an error, this can mean the item will not receive any updates until the error is resolved. This can cause significant issues. For example, if quantity updates aren’t going through, you might oversell. Or, if items are being sold at the wrong price, you could be losing sales to other sellers. To understand which product is listed on a marketplace, please see the “Status Box”.
-
Find Relatively Easier Errors to Fix
When you are looking through your errors, try to analyze which ones are easy to fix and address those first. For example, you might have some multiple SKUs that can be solved by mapping a field on your template, including a valid value by option mapping or assigning a category to your product. Try to solve these first, then turn back to others that require looking at individual SKUs.
When you do start to address errors at the individual SKU level, start with your top-selling items. Then, you can work on your less popular items as you have time.
-
Identify Error Source
This will make you more aware about any issues you are experiencing and save you time.
When reviewing errors, you’ll notice that some of the error messages come directly from StoreAutomator and others are from the marketplace.
Errors from StoreAutomator are referred to as “internal errors” which can be seen by codes and differentiate for each marketplace. They generally deal with missing required fields or invalid values that will cause errors on a specific marketplace.
Marketplace errors are the ones we receive back from the marketplace itself. They can be seen by the name and image of the marketplace they are coming from.
Knowing the source of the error is important because marketplaces won’t be aware of validation errors from the StoreAutomator. If you’re unsure of how to resolve these, we recommend working with StoreAutomator Support directly.
-
Use the Template Preview
You can use this for specific SKUs with errors and can be helpful about what you are looking for.
The template preview allows you to input an SKU and see which values will be sent to the marketplace. You’ll see not only validation errors, but also the fields that will be mapped based on the marketplace category.
