You can assign a template for a specific product category in a multitude of probabilities using the mapping function.
You can assign a template for a specific product category in many probabilities using the mapping function. You can reach the mapping function through:
Menu > Channel > Mappings and click on the Templates tab.
1. Click on “Expand all” to view all product categories. Product categories are displayed on the left-hand side, and channel-specific templates are displayed on the right-hand side.
2. Looking at product categories, Treeview blue color denotes a template has not been assigned to this product category, and green color denotes a template that has been assigned. System displays assignment level by displaying the template name next to the product category with a back and forth arrow in between.
3. To assign a template to a product category, click to select the product category, drag to your preferred template, and drop.
For example, the “Beauty-BeautyMisc” template is assigned to the product category at the level of “Makeup.” This means all subcategories under “Makeup” inherit the assignment and all super categories (e.g., Local categories) remain excluded from this assignment. Blue colored “Local Categories” means that some other categories under this level don’t have a template assignment yet.
4. You can assign a different template to a subcategory to override its output feed; for instance, you have created another template called “accessories” and assigned the “Lipstick” product category this template.
This action will override this category’s template setting to “Bath soaps Template” and keep other categories under the “makeup” template.
